These Songs Have Sucked Me In:

Walcott - Vampire Weekend
Arms - Seabear
Obsessed With You - The Orion Experience
If U Seek Amy - Britney Spears
Walking On a Dream - Empire of The Sun
Pokerface - Lady GaGa
Help, I'm Alive- Metric (anything by Metric really)

So all of these songs are pretty up-tempo and all have a happy vibe about them, I guess it's reflective of my mood lately. Many of them are pretty sugary but never-the-less instantly put you in a good mood. Also three of these songs played in a row when I was shopping at Forever 21 so there is a little weirdness to think about.
That reminds me... I need to download Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance (or whatever it's called)

Can't get enough

You have to listen to this if you haven't all ready...

The I'm Not There soundtrack is amazing. I mean, yeah it's a bunch of covers but they are all great and they chose some great artists to capture the Bob Dylan sound while remaining true to themselves but more importantly to create a sound that would enhance the movie to its fullest.
So my favorite song of the bunch is Goin' to Acupulco - Jim James & Calexico
It's amazing. The vocals are so clear, I just can't get enough of it.

So go listen to the album and let me know what you think... and while you're at, it go see the movie, it's just as amazing.

Drop Your Pants

Do you love cool indie tunes... do you also love free stuff? Well then you will love this free playlist I found! (happy birthday... or whatever)

Enjoy!!!

Also I picked up the Lily Allen album today!
Finally!
I love it so far. I had previewed it on iTunes a dozen and a half times so I knew I was going to enjoy
it. So far my fav track is Fuck You.
I don't know what it is about her, maybe the fact that she likes to break the rules, she says whatever is on her mind
she genuinely loves what she does, but she has got me hooked.

An American Doll

There are few reviews I was going to talk about, but there is something that has been bugging me
and I need to write about it so that people can think about it for a second. Ok so you might want
to know what the hell I am talking about.
First of all I don't believe in guilty pleasure music. I don't think you should have to feel guilty for
listening to music. If you like something THEN LISTEN TO IT!!!!! All I ask of people is that they have an
open mind and explore beyond the radio. It goes both ways. There are people who only listen
to obscure music and look down upon people who listen to pop or whatever they deem "not good"
I think people need to chill out and just LOVE music. Don't discriminate, don't stereotype!

Ok now that, that is out of the way I wanted to talk about something many of you might judge me for.
It's Britney Spears. I know she's crazy but so are a lot of other musicians.
I think people need to jump off there high horse and look at the facts.
She makes good DANCE music. The lyrics might not be fanciful poems of the subconscious, but SO WHAT.
Maybe some people can't get over he "baby one more time" phase but if you took a look at her last two albums
you would see that they have great dance beats and they make me want to dance more than anything else.
I know there are a lot of people who agree in secret. LET YOUR SECRET OUT!
Britney's music is some of the best Dance/Pop out there, don't let your own snobbery get the best of you
cause if you do you will truly be missing out.

Grammy Fail

.R.I.P. 2002, originally uploaded by .morgan nov elate.

Alison Krauss & Robert Plant... sorry but I don't understand this.
I am proud of John Mayer for Best Male Vocal, and also Best Male Rock Vocal.
Performances were kind of boring and too many old songs were used.
Introductions or any talking for that matter was excruciating to watch.
Oh well, I guess I wasn't expecting much more anyway.

These Animals have more to offer than just a trippy album cover

Wow this group is one of the most creative I have experienced in a long time.
I have only listened to the whole thing once so I can't say a WHOLE lot on the new album.
Daily Routine caught my attention, actually most of the second half caught my attention.
I can't wait to stare at the cover and listen to them for hours.
I'm not but if I were a stoner I would be obsessed without even pressing play.

On a side note I am currently watching season 4 of the O.C. on dvd.
In the last episode I watched they played a remake of R.E.M.'s Orange Crush.
It was by Editors and I think it's pretty great so check it out :)
